Yes, the old birds are in the shops again and I'm left in the car. I spend a lot of my time here, watching folks come and go. Looks a bit windy today, and the rain is sweeping across in horizontal mode. I'd like to be out in that...love the feeling on my fur, the way it ruffles up as the wind waves across it. But I'm not out. Stuck in again. At least there might be the hope of a walk later-though I'm not holding my breath. I expect they'll get home, settle in and not venture out again. Oh well, suppose it's back to lounging on the couch again this afternoon!!
With a wee cocking of my ear, I hear that it's back home next week. I'll be glad. Love my green field and chasing the ball and Benji and all tose lovely aunts and uncles. I get a bit petted, but I LOVE it!!
Oh Oh....I spy some faces I met a few weeks ago. Weren't they the ones supposed to be related? Mum and sisters? Yes, they're looking over. I'll give them my best profile. Turned out well didn't I? Handsome fellow? They're coming over. Smile boy!
That's it. Ooooh Ahhhh Yes I can certainly woo the crowds. Star potential. Should have been to Crufts!

Yes, I'm still alive and woofing! Haven't had time to wooflog for AGES!!! In fact it may have been a year ago that I last put paw to keyboard!!
Anyway, here I am AT LAST.....
So what's been happening to old four paws in the year that has just passed? Plenty as ever. Living with these old birds is to tell the truth a bit of an adventure. Never know quite where you'll end up when they swan off into the far blue yonder.
At the moment we're close to my birthplace in Connel near Oban. Don't remember much of the birth experience, though we did run into my birthmum and litter sisters the other day. Had a wee sniff around. They seemed friendly enough, and it sounds like we're going to visit. No doubt there'll be the standard photo shoot and a lot of oohing and ahhing about how wonderful we are. We know that. Pedigree pooches all of us. I of course am the unusual one of the litter. All the others were black or black and white. Throw-back I was to a very handsome grandfather. Must make sure old MamaRay lets me shower and have a trim before the visit. Have to look my best. But then again........MamaRay and scissors tend to get carried away and my lovely locks tend to end up as bird-nest lining!!
Anyway, good to be back on the keys. Will try to get a word in now and again when the old birds let me!
A Woofing good year to all my readers!!

Scccccrrrrruuuuuffff? Scccccrrrrruuuuuffff?
Me? They're calling me a Scccccrrrrruuuuuffff???
Huh! I'm no Scccccrrrrruuuuuffff. I'm a pedigree pooch; family tree of championship breeds as long as my tail (before it was docked!). They even have a championship for Scccccrrrrruuuuuffffss like me. Called Scccccrrrrruuuuufffftttsss. I saw it again tonight on the television. Huh! I could do as well as the ones there tonight. Complain about my long coat my mamas do. They should take a look at the ones presenting themselves tonight. My coat is short by comparison-doesn't trail along the ground, like some of the ones I saw. So what if it is a little unkempt looking. That's the wild look I cultivate. After all if celebrity humans can get away with looking as if they've never combed their locks in years, why can't a celebrity pooch?
I ask you, all this human rights stuff and politically correct stuff is all very well, but it needs to be applied to canines too. If I want to maintain a wild look to attract any passing bitch, then I should be able to. AND I should NOT be called a Scccccrrrrruuuuuffff. Hurtful to my sensitive nature. Hmm. Wonder if the European Court of Canine Rights would listen to my case? Might be worth a try. But then I'm not chipped so I couldn't appear. And I might not be eligible for canine aid. Probably not worth the trouble.
Scccccccccccccccccccccccrrrrruuuuufffffffffffff.

Cheated. That's how I feel today. I was watching Crufts last night and listened to all the chatter about tails and docking. So I could have had a WHOLE tail and not HALF a tail? Huh!I didn't have the choice. No-one asked me if I wanted a short one. And they said it didn't hurt at all. Huh! How do they know that? They're not dogs. I FELT mine being docked even although I was only days old. It HURT! But it's too late for me. Mine is gone. At least it'll never happen again to anyone like me. That's some comfort. To think I could have had a long swishy tail to waggle? I was born too soon!
Oh-oh.....I can hear the thoughts of mamaray....... clipping scissors in her mind. Time to make myself scarce. Under the table out of sight and out of mind. Just as well I don't have a big tail really-more difficult to hide!

I may not be a geek, but I know a wee bit about geeky things. We have eons of them around us. They get more of my mamas' time than I ever do. You know if I put a box over my head and made a screen on the front like a monitor, I'd maybe get a look-in now and again!
What is so wonderful about computers anyway? Over-rated. That's what I think.
Anyway, today was a thoreoughly geeky day. From the moment those two opened their four eyes, the screens were open and there they sat. Glued to them. Never even looked my way other than to throw me my breakfast and let me have my ablutions outside for a minute or two. As for a WALK? Not on the agenda today. No way! Can't imagine what all the activity is about. Something to do with pensioners, whatever they are. Must be very important people given the time they're spending.
Oh-oh! Signs of change. One of the mamas has put down the lid. The other's still at it though. Will she EVER stop? Had to run for cover a couple of times today when the air around the screen went blue! She did get in a strop. I ask you is it worth it? She'd be much better stroking me and getting the old BP down a bit.
Oh-oh! I think she's going to stop. Keeps looking my way thoughtfully. Yes the screen is black. Now the lid is closed. Give yourself a shake dog. Be alert. There might be a walk on offer soon. A wee cry or two just to make sure you're noticed!
Success! Just shimmy along towards the door and look hopeful. A wee scratch. Another wee cry. Sniff around at their feet a bit.
YES! She's noticed. Up on her feet. Making for the door. I MIGHT be in luck..........Now where's that lead?
